Spaghetti / Bingo Dinner 2014

The Spaghetti dinner and bingo event was a huge success.  The food was excellent and everyone had a roaring good time at bingo.  The prizes donated to us for the winners were far nicer than we could have possibly hoped for.  We cannot show enough gratitude for these items, for everyone who worked so hard putting it on and for those who showed up to support CARE.  If you didn’t make it, you need to make our next event. It will do your soul good to be with people like you who care about our community and the animals who live there.

We had some tarps donated but we need a few more. Winter is coming and these animals need protection from the wind and cold. If you could please help with the donation of at least one tarp it would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Come on, how much is a tarp? We not only need them at HQ but also for our foster shelters.

We also need a stereo amplifier with a microphone jack, and a CD player for the bus.  Also some weatherproof speakers.  We cannot announce where we are at and what we are doing from the bus by trying to yell above the noise.  It can be a car stereo type or 110 volt (we have an voltage inverter installed in the bus.)  Let me know (432-528-1949) what you have and I’ll let you know if it will work.

Millsap Veterinary Clinic picked up the Gold sponsor for the CARE RUN 4 RESCUE for 2014.  The date has been set for April 12th in Gordon.  The chip timing company has already been reserved and the City of Gordon has been notified.  We’re rolling (as Peggy says).  Volunteer job delegations will be coming soon.  We are starting earlier than usual with planning.  We’re learning.  Volunteer sign-ups start now.  Contact Peggy.

All of these events will require participation from the CARE Volunteers.  Decide what you can do or help with and get your name on the list early for that event.  You know…the early sign ups get the best jobs.  The last sign ups get to scoop poop.  No pressure.

We have several injured animals in our care.  Our vet bills have increased substantially.  If you would like to donate to help with the care of these needy animals please use our PayPal donate button at the bottom of the page.  All would sincerely appreciate it.

We also are needing to renovate our clinic area for onsite spay and neuter surgeries.  We are asking for donations to complete this project and head toward the goal to aid our community with unwanted pet population control.  This project will eventually lead to Emergency preparedness/disaster relief registration for family pets and area wide Microchip clinics.  Again, please help and give with any donation you can.
